Siperly is a wine-discovery service: a mobile/web app that helps you build a taste profile, rate wines, and get personalized recommendations, plus this marketing website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Siperly app at app.siperly.com and to this website (siperly.com).
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and date of birth. We collect date of birth solely to confirm you are 21 or older (or of legal drinking age in your region) before you can use the service.
- Wine activity — the ratings, reviews, and tasting notes you create in the app.
- Taste-profile and preference data — your palate-quiz answers and the preference profile we build from them to power recommendations.
- Location (GPS) — used to suggest nearby wineries. Location is read only while you are using the app, only if you grant permission through your device's operating system, and you can revoke that permission at any time in your OS settings.
- Push notification tokens — a device token that lets us deliver push notifications you have opted into.
- Server logs — basic technical logs (such as IP address, request time, and endpoint) generated when your device talks to our servers, used for security, debugging, and keeping the service running.
What we do not do
We do not use advertising or tracking pixels, and we do not sell your personal information. On this marketing website, storage is limited to the cookie-consent preference itself (kept in your browser's local storage) — there are no analytics or marketing trackers running today. If that ever changes, such scripts will only run if you opt in via the cookie banner.
How we use your information
- To verify you meet the legal drinking age requirement.
- To provide the service: recommendations tuned to your taste profile, your saved ratings and notes, and nearby-winery suggestions.
- To send push notifications you have opted into.
- To secure, debug, and operate the service (server logs).
Cookies on this website
When you first visit siperly.com, a cookie banner asks for your preferences. The "Essential" category is always on and stores only your consent choice. The "Analytics & Marketing" category is off by default, and no analytics or marketing scripts exist on the site today. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is deleted.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
- Right to know / access — in the app, go to Profile → Privacy & Data → Download my data to receive a full export of your data in JSON format.
- Right to delete — in the app, use the Delete my account flow in Profile → Privacy & Data. Deletion is irreversible and requires password confirmation.
- Other requests — for correction, portability, objection, or any other privacy request, email privacy@siperly.com.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
